If you knit, crochet, tat, do embroidery, counted cross stitch or needlepoint, you likely have a portable project.  When you think of all the hours you spend waiting on other people, the numbers could prove depressing unless you have something to show for the time.  The time I have spent waiting on 6 children and a husband with no sense of time is staggering, totaling years!  In the early years of family life, I did counted cross stitch.  I always had a large ziplock bag with a project in it in my van.  I filled the walls of my dining room with beautiful pieces doing car pool duty.  As time passed and eyesight waned, I took up crochet.  I also realized I could do better than a ziplock bag as my Project To Go bag.  I love bags of all sorts.  Luckily, my love for bags is equalled by my hate of clutter.  Every bag has to have a job to stay.  If I see a bag I cannot live without, or am given one as a gift, another bag must move on Goodwill and make room for the new.  Such was the case when I was in Hobby Lobby, looking for Easter baskets, when this unique bag caught my eye.Image

I needed a new bag for my latest P.T.G.- mittens.  The bag is lined inside and has a pocket which I use for trash.  What else goes in this bag….ImageFirst off of course is the project pattern and supplies.  If, like me, you get patterns from magazines, don’t tote along the magazine.  Make a copy of your instructions.  I write on mine, a lot, so that is very handy for me.  There are also a few other items in my bag to make life easier….ImageI

I have yet another cute little bag to hold sticky notes and pen for making note of needed supplies or bright ideas…Chapstick…tylenol….hand lotion…..hand sanitizer…..tissues…..wet wipes……a snack…..a little money in case a concession stand or Starbucks is nearby and glasses so I can read my pattern!  Be sure to keep all the extra items in a separate bag.  It is heart breaking to find that your gorgeous pale pink cashmere yarn has been snuggling in the back seat of your car, on a hot summer day, with a chocolate bar!  Grab your bag and enjoy your waiting time!
